Summary Introduction
Introduction: Fertilization is the process in which two gametes, one from the male and the other from the female, fuse together to produce an undifferentiated diploid cell called zygote. The male gamete is called sperm and the female gamete is called ovum or egg. In mammals, the sperm fertilizes the ovum inside the body of the mother and this type of fertilization is called internal fertilization.
