Chapter 52.5, Problem 2R
Summary Introduction
To review:
The influence of time-compensated solar compass mechanism on waggle dance of honey bees.
Introduction:
Honey bees communicate using mechano-sensory signals, which are used for providing information about the availability or discovery of regions with food to hive-mates. Forager honey bee conveys the direction and distance of food to hive-mates by waggle dance, which is with respect to the direction of the Sun. The waggle dance is performed on vertical surface of honeycomb inside the hive.
