Explanation The three scientific principles of sustainability are reliance on solar energy, nutrient cycling, and biodiversity. The tropical grasslands are found near the equator and receive the most intense sunlight. Savanna is also a tropical grassland. It has a warm temperature throughout the year with alternating dry and wet seasons. It consists of widely scattered clumps of trees. The tropical Savanna in East Africa is home to many grazing and browsing hoofed animals such as antelopes, zebras, elephants, giraffes, and gazelles and predators such as hyenas, lions, and humans. The plants in Savanna are adapted to survive in drought and extreme heat. They have deep roots that can tap into groundwater.
