To review:
The plexuses that are formed by the ventral rami and also explain about the regions of the body they serve.
Introduction:
The spinal nerves are the mixed nerves that arise from the spinal cord. They exist as 31 pairs. They perform sensory functions (bring information back from the area they serve), motor functions (carry information to the effector's muscles), and autonomic functions (proper functioning of the internal organs).
The spinal nerves branch into dorsal ramus, ventral ramus, meninges, and rami communicants outside the vertebral column. The ventral ramus consists of nerves that serve an anterior portion of the trunk and the upper and lower limbs as well. The nerve plexuses are the braid-like network of blood vessels and the nerves.
