Chapter 7, Problem 6TYU
Summary Introduction

Introduction: Energy is necessary for all living organisms to perform their life processes. Living cells obtain energy in a different form and they also have the mechanisms to alter energy from one form to another form. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is known as the immediate “energy currency” of the cell and it is continually produced from adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and inorganic phosphate through cellular respiration or photosynthesis.

Fish Cell Physiology Discuss and compare the energy produced from cellular fuels such as saturated fatty acids unsaturated fatty acids, amino acids, and glucose. If you have to maximize the energy utilization of your fish  what particular compound (saturated fatty acids unsaturated fatty acids, amino acids, and glucose) would you provide as the energy source, discuss the scientific principle of your answer
3. The average human has a total of about 250 grams of ATP. But calculations of the ATP needed to pick up a bad of potato chips, walk from the kitchen to the living room, sit on the couch, open the bag, grab the TV remote, select a channel to watch, and eat the first hand full of chips requires roughly 105 kg of ATP! Even at rest, just breathing requires more ATP than a typical human has. How is this possible that humans can survive with so little ATP?
1.What is the importance of ADP? 2. ATP provides energy cell to do work. True or false? 3. ATP is manufactured during various processes such as fermentation, cellular respiration, and photosynthesis. True or false? 4. ATP is the energy currency used throughout the cell. True or false?
