The electronic configuration tells about the distribution of electrons in various atomic orbital. Depending upon the number of electrons, the atom can be classified as a multi-electron atom and single electron atom.
The multi-electron atoms are the atoms that have more than one electron. Helium, nitrogen, oxygen are some of the examples of multielectron atoms. Hydrogen is only an exception that is not multielectron species as it consists of a single electron.
