Explanation of Solution

a) Gasoline energy to forward motion of an automobile

Gasoline is an organic compound and major constituents of gasoline are carbon and hydrogen. It consists mainly organic compounds that are obtained by the fractional distillation of petroleum which are enhanced with a variety of additives. The burning of gasoline forms CO2, CO, and water vapors. A large amount of heat is also released, which runs the engine of automobiles. It releases the energy source, which is used in the forward movement of automobiles. Only 1525% is used of it, the left gets wasted.

b) Food energy to physical work

Food acts as fuel for the human body. It provides energy to human beings. A human body cannot survive in the absence of food. Food acts as a source of energy and is utilized for doing the physical work. The food energy which is used is 45%- 55%, the remaining gets wasted
