Pick one of the following organizations and explain how marketing research
might be unique to that type of organization: a manufacturer of breakfast cereal, a manufacturer of nuts, bolts and other fasteners, the Federal Trade Commission, a hospital, and a computer software publisher. Try to add something new to the discussion.
Here's something else you may want to respond to: Do you think that a non-profit organization needs marketing research? Why or why not?
Each posting should be a minimum of 100 words in length.
Marketing research is unique to a hospital because it provides their healthcare professionals with the opportunity to gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the physical and emotional needs and behaviors of their patients. It gives healthcare industry professionals greater insight into how they can also provide the best quality of care for their patients. In addition, marketing research is an ideal way to help businesses in the healthcare industry find new and innovative ways to enhance their services or products in order to not only increase profits but also to satisfy the needs of their customers. Customer research is essential to the products and services being provided by a business in the healthcare industry and, at the end of the day, a hospital is a business after all. For example, before making an appointment with a new healthcare facility or with a new doctor, customers want to know that the place they are making an appointment with
has positive reviews and that people have had good experiences there. By asking for reviews from healthcare customers, you are gaining credibility and
positive standing not only with their current patients, but any new potential patients to come as well. By giving their customers an opportunity to speak their minds and following up with consumer feedback in their marketing efforts, they show their customers that they are proactively working to address their concerns in a quick and efficient manner. Utilizing reputation management should be a part of any healthcare marketing strategy with a hospital and other healthcare businesses in order to showcase the positive, learn from the negative, and enhance the patient experience as much as possible.

2) How do ideas for market research arise? First of all, someone has to know something about the capabilities of market research before they can think of it as a possible solution. Most people know something about market research in a general sense. They know it can be used to find out how many people do something or think something. But do they fully appreciate that it can be used to work out how much people are prepared to pay for each feature of a product? Do they know that you can work out the importance of issues that influence customer satisfaction without asking the customer how important each issue is? If you don’t know what something can do, it is fully understandable that it may not come to mind.
