MKTG116 Assignment #1: Evaluating Market Strategy and the Environment
Please answer the following questions
:
Question 1: Company Background (approximately ½ page)
– 5 Marks
a.
Provide the name of your company and a short outline of their business. Information that you could include here is: What the company does, their mission/vision, notable new products they have created, your thoughts on what they do well and not so well. You can find this by researching the company’s website and annual reports or general news articles. ANSWER: The company I have selected is Sun Rype Foods and we make wholesome products from Okanagan fruit. We started our business in 1946 and continue. In the 1940s the name of the company was BC Fruit Processing Ltd. The foundation of the company was laid by two main aspects. one is the quality of the product they are producing and the second one is the efficient working of workers engaged in different sections of the company. Today, we’re
still committed to making great things out of fruit, veggies, and other simple ingredients. We have run our business successfully for over 78 years in manufacturing marketing for a wide range of
juice and snack products. After our first product was introduced in the market we were popular all over western Canada and led to a change in name from BC Fruit Processing Ltd to Sun Rype Products Ltd. We are a Canadian brand based in Kelowna, British Columbia and we are also donating to different charitable trusts all over Canada. We have a total of 38 types of beverages and 40 types of snacks. Our all products are packed in eco-friendly covers, and we use only paper straws in our juice packages. Most of our products are made from real fruits and our famous pure apple juice which does not contain any concentration or sugar. In my thoughts, sun Rype Foods have great sales in Canada and they are generating good income throughout the year. One of our newly created variety products is sun Rype Fruit to Go which consists of 8 blue raspberry and 7 pink lemonades. © 2020 CENTENNIALCOLLEGE.CA All rights reserved. 2
