1.
Understand the similarities and differences between spectator and
participant markets.
2.
Describe the eight basic fan motivation factors.
Sel-esteem enhancement, entertainment value
3.
Explain how game attractiveness, economic factors, and
competitive factors relate to game attendance.
Game attractiveness influences game attendance because
spectators will make the decision about the game’s value and
importance based on which teams or athletes are competing in said
game. The more attractive the game is perceived to be, the greater
the chance that we will attend. Economic factors can play a role in
game attendance as well because the sports organization can try
and control the high costs of ticket prices so that more fans can
attend the events. Competition also plays a part in game
attendance because we can decide to observe through live sporting
events or through other mediums. Sometimes, it’s easier and more
cost effective to just watch on TV. Other times, we want to be there
for the real event.
4.
Describe the demographic profile of spectators and explain the
changing role of women as spectators.
Spectators are most likely to be male, young, educated, and earn higher
incomes than the average person. However, women are more motivated
than men to attend these sporting events to instill family togetherness. They
are also motivated by the social value of sports and if their friends and family
were already watching the event. Women today are attending more sporting
events than ever before in history.
5.
Understand the relationship between stadium factors and game
attendance.
Fans are more likely to attend if stadium is newer, cleaner, more
comfortable.
6.
Discuss the components of the sportscape model.
Sportscape factors are stadium access, facility aesthetics,
scoreboard quality, seating comfort, and layout accessibility.
7.
Provide super bowl prediction
I think the Eagles will win 28-21.

An automobile manufacturer observes the demand for its brand increasing as per capita income increases. Sales increases also follow low interest rates, which ease credit conditions. Buyer purchase behavior is seen to be dependent on age and gender.
