Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

In science, the sound is a vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave and can propagate through a medium like air, liquid, or solids.

The vocal cords are present in the throat. When a person breathes, air passes through the throat, the vocal cords get disturbed and contract as the person speaks. The force of air causes vibration in the vocal cords and this vibration produces sound waves. The muscle pushes air up from the lungs and through the opening in between the vocal cords. These sound waves are absorbed by the human ear and gets reflected in the ear canal, and the eardrum. When sound waves strike the eardrum, it vibrates. The cell in the ear sends electrical signals along the nerves to the brain and as the brain receives and processes the signals, the sound is heard by the human.

Conclusion:

Thus, sound travels from vocal cords to a friend’s ear while talking.
