To explain: About convenience sampling, self-selected sample, and also the differences between them.
Convenience sampling is a sampling method where subjects in the sample are selected from who are conveniently available.
For example: To study the average weight of school students, considering a sample of students from one class is considered convenience sampling.
A self-selected sampling is a sampling method where the subjects have a choice to participate in the study or not participate in the study.
For example: An online survey is sent to students of a college, only the students who have an interest take part in the survey, and the rest of them skip.
A self-selected sampling can be a Convenience sampling but a self-selected sampling can’t be a convenience sampling. There can be a convenience sample that is not a self-selection sample and all self-selection samples can be considered as convenience sampling.
