A binomial experiment is used to calculate probabilities of a particular number of successes in fixed n trails with a probability of success p. Where binomial expansion is used to write the expansion of two terms x, y raised to the power of n.
In binomial experiments writing the sum of all possible probabilities is nothing but a binomial expansion, where the probability of success(p) and probability of failure(q) are considered as two terms x, y, and the total number of trials n is the exponent in binomial expansion.
