Flavin adenine dinucleotide exists in two forms: oxidized form denoted as FAD and reduced form denoted as FADH2. FAD consist of three subunits: Flavin, ribitol, and ADP. ADP is a nucleotide which consists of the adenine base, a ribose sugar, and two phosphoryl groups. The oxidized form (FAD) undergoes redox reaction to convert into its reduced form (FADH2)
