Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

A laser is a device which can emit light or electromagnetic radiation through the process of optical amplification based on stimulated emission of radiation. The term laser is an acronym for “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation.”

A laser emits light which is coherent and can be called as organized light. Spatial coherence allows the laser to be focused to a tight and small spot. This method is normally used in laser cutting and lithography. With spatial coherence, the laser can emit large amount of energy by focusing into small areas. The beam can stay narrow over large distances, enabling applications such as laser pointers. It can emit light with a very narrow spectrum.

The photons of laser light move in step by step with one another. The coherent property of laser light makes it capable of delivering high amount of energy in small areas.

Conclusion:

Thus, laser beam of light can deliver large amount of energy to a small area.
