When a light passes from denser medium into the less dense medium, it reflects away from the normal. This condition is termed as a total internal reflection.
The necessary conditions for a total internal reflection are mentioned below:
- In an optically denser medium, the angle of incidence is considered to be greater than critical angle.
- Light ray is supposed to travel from an optically denser medium to an optically less dense medium.
Conclusion: The light wave follows the law of reflection.
