Introduction:
The pre-mRNA (precursor-messengerribonucleic acid) molecule, which is obtained after the transcription of the DNA template, undergoes various steps to become a functional/mature mRNA. When it becomes functional, it is used in translation for the synthesis of proteins. Transcription is considered to be the initial stage of gene expression.
