Introduction:

The complement system is the mechanism of the elimination foreign bacteria, particles, fungi, mismatched red blood cells and others. The plasma proteins form a membrane attack complex in a cascade fashion when they encounter a foreign particle. The binding of the foreign particle to the complement is called complement fixation.
