VISUALIZE Sketch a figure to show how reverse transcription is catalyzed by the enzyme reverse transcriptase. Label the nucleic acids involved and produced by the process and draw arrows to indicate the direction of synthesis along the template.

Summary Introduction

To sketch: The figure to show the way in which reverse transcription is catalyzed by the enzyme reverse transcriptase and labeling of nucleic acids involved and produced by the process and draw arrows that indicated the direction of synthesis along the template.

Introduction: A gene is a set of nucleotides that codes a particular protein. Gene expression causes the synthesis of a protein. The gene expression is regulated in a controlled way depending on the requirement of the cell. For example, proteins involved in cell division are synthesized prior to the cell division. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic genes have differential gene expression in order to suit the specific needs of the cell.

Explanation of Solution

Pictorial representation: Fig.1 shows the way in which reverse transcription is catalyzed by the enzyme reverse transcriptase.
