Explanation of Solution
Chemists utilize the sublimation process to clean up their compounds. Usually, a solid is warmed under vacuum in a sublimation equipment. The solid vaporizes and again condenses as a pure compound on a chilled surface at a lower pressure, leaving behind non-volatile residues.
For example, naphthalene and camphor are separated from non-volatile contaminants using this approach. When heated, naphthalene goes straight from a solid to a vapor without melting. The vapors will solidify after cooling.
