Concept explainers
Suggest some reasons that there is so much redundancy of action and there are so many interacting aspects of immune responses.
To determine:
The reasons behind so much redundancy of action and so many interacting aspects of immune response.
Introduction:
There is a lot of redundancy in the action of immune response. Also, there are several interacting factors in the immune response, such as inflammation reactions is caused by several factors.
Explanation of Solution
The reason behind the redundancy of immune response may be thought of to do as a backup system. There are many interacting factors too in the immune response, such as phagocytosis is caused by several types of cells or it may be vice versa; such as, both saliva and tears contain lysozyme, which serve the common purpose of dissolving the peptidoglycan of cell walls of bacteria, destroy protozoans, fungi and some viruses. Also, every cell has some important functions to perform.
Hence, it may be concluded that there is a lot of redundancy and many interacting factors in the immune response, that renders protection against many pathogenic and infectious factors.
