Introduction:

The saccule and utricle are the two chambers present in the vestibular apparatus, which are made by the receptors responsible for equilibrium. Each of these chambers contains supporting cells and hair cells termed asmacula. The macula sacculi and the macula utricle lie on the saccule wall (nearly vertically) and utricle floor (nearly horizontally), respectively. Each of the hair cells has stereocilia (40 to 70) and one kinocilium, a true cilium.
