To explain: Whether the extensive use of oxaloacetate for gluconeogenesis would affect the citric acid cycle or not.

Introduction:

Gluconeogenesis is the process of production of glucose in the absence of precursors required for glucose production. These precursors are non carbohydrates, such as amino acids, propionate, glycerol, and so on. Gluconeogenesis takes place in kidney and liver. In glycolysis, production of pyruvate from glucose occurs while in gluconeogenesis; production of glucose from pyruvate takes place.
