Hypersensitivity refers to unwanted immune reactions produced by the normal immune system, such as allergies and autoimmunity. They are referred as an over-reaction of the immune system. There are four types of hyper sensitivity- Type I, also called as immediate hypersensitivity, Type II, also known as cytotoxic dependent hypersensitivity, Type III, also known as Immune Complex Reaction and Type IV, immunity also known as delayed immunity.
