The high-altitude erythropoietin production is the adaptive feature of the human body. At higher altitude, the partial pressure of oxygen present in the air is low. Erythropoietin stimulates the production of red blood cells (RBCs) to meet the oxygen demand during the low availability of oxygen in the air.
