The tree of life has three domains, namely Archaea, bacteria, and eukarya. This tree of life is based on the SSU rRNA (small subunit ribosomal ribonucleic acid) analysis which was proposed by Carl Woese. The domains are represented above the kingdoms in this classification system. It identifies the domain Archaea to be more closely related to Eukaryotes than Prokaryotes.
