Adrenal gland consists of two endocrine parts, namely adrenal medulla and adrenal cortex. The adrenal medulla is present on the inner side, while the adrenal cortex surrounds the adrenal medulla. The adrenal cortex is responsible for forming the bulk of the gland and originates from the somatic mesoderm.
