Chapter 18, Problem 6P
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The lack of carbamoyl phosphate synthetase I (CPS I) in mutants of Neurospora crassarequires arginine and lack of carbamoylphosphate synthetase II (CPS II) requires pyrimidine as uracil where CPS II giving enough carbamoylphosphate to arginine synthesis and CPS I in pyrimidine mutant to feed pyrimidine pathway is to be observed.

Concept Introduction:

Carbamoyl phosphate synthetase contains small and large subunit which acts as an enzyme catalyst that catalyzes Carbamoyl phosphate and bicarbonate where the synthesis takes place with the help of ATP (Adenosine triphosphate).
