Concept introduction:
Conjunctivitis is an infectious eye condition and occurs in almost every age group. There are mainly three types of conjunctivitis: neonatal conjunctivitis, bacterial conjunctivitis, and viral conjunctivitis. Neonatal eye infection is mainly caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae or Chlamydia trachomatis. Bacterial conjunctivitis in other age groups is caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pneumonia. Viral conjunctivitis is caused mainly by adenoviruses.
