Chapter 22.3, Problem 8AYLO
Summary Introduction

To discuss:

The three modes of CO2 transport in the blood and the amounts of CO2 transported by each; where the CO2 binds to hemoglobin and the term used when CO2 binds to hemoglobin.

Introduction:

The respiratory system mainly functions to deliver oxygen (O2) to the tissues in the body and to eliminate carbon dioxide (CO2) from the lungs. Carbon dioxide is a gas that is produced during metabolic processes in the body. It is removed by the lungs by the process of exhalation. Hemoglobin is a complex carrier protein that transports oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood.

True or False and why. "If a person exhibits alveolar partial pressure for oxygen equivalent to that of the humidified inspired air, then this could mean that alveolar ventilation and capillary blood flow are above normal rates".
How respiratory and cardiovascular system keep oxygen levels , carbon dioxide and pH of the blood at normal levels
