Adequate information:
The results of the tests are as follows:
General | Blood | Urine |
Blood pressure: 95/98 | pH: 7.1 | pH: 4.3 |
HR (heart rate): 110 | Glucose: 345 mg/dl (milligram per deciliter) | Glucose: strongly positive |
Blood alcohol: 110 mg/dl |
Odor: fruity acetone |
Also, glucose is generally absent in the urine.

- A person has undergone fasting. What type of feedback mechanism is exhibited by his body to sustain his blood sugar and for it not to drop in critical level even though he is not consuming enough carbohydrates to sustain his normal blood sugar level?arrow_forwardThomas is challenged by his friends to consume a large 1 Kg steak. While consuming the steak, he also consumes a fair amount of Cola. An hour after he completed the challenge, a blood sample is taken from which his average amino acid and glucose concentration is determined. His results show that his glucose concentration is above normal but his amino acid concentration is normal. Provide an explanation as to why his amino acid concentrations are normal and not also elevated even though he consumed a 1 Kg steak.arrow_forwardDuring a study of digestion, a health 25-year-old woman volunteers to eat a large meal consisting of turkey dressing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes peas and rolls.
