To determine:

The two plant diseases caused by parasitic fungi which had an enormous effect on forests in the United States and also determine the taxonomic group to which these parasitic fungi belong.

Introduction:

Fungi are the group of eukaryotic organisms that include yeasts, molds, and mushrooms. They are known to be the decomposers of dead organic matter in an ecosystem. Fungi are also known to cause diseases in plants and animals. Pathogenic fungi damage plants and crops which are economically important.
