The common characteristics of herpesviruses.
Introduction:
The term ‘herpesviruses’ was used for the tendency of some herpes infections to produce a rash that spread, but it encompasses a big family of viruses that cause diseases like herpes simplex 1 and 2, chickenpox, shingles, cytomegalovirus infection, Epstein-Barr virus infection, roseola and Kaposi sarcoma. Most humans are carriers of some kind of herpesvirus without experiencing the symptoms of an infection.
