Chapter 24.3, Problem 3TQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The effect of haptens on the production of anti-hapten antibodies following attachment to a carrier protein.
Introduction:
The immune system has two arms named innate and adaptive. Any response by the immune system depends upon the size of the molecule, the type of the molecule, and most importantly on the shape of the molecule. The molecule that is able to stimulate the immune system is called immunogen and the process of identification of a foreign molecule involves degradation and presentation to the adaptive immune system.
