Introduction:
Oogenesis is the process of formation of ova (egg), which is the female gamete. Gametes are haploid in nature which means that they have half number of chromosomes whereas the rest of the cells are diploid in nature. Oogonia (germ cells) divide through meiotic division and form oocytes during the fetal period.
