The phospholipid is the major class of the lipids and is a primary component of all the cell membranes. Phospholipids are generally composed of one phosphate group (hydrophilic) and two fatty acid chains (hydrophobic). The steroids are made up of four fused carbon rings and differ in the functional group attached to it.
