Introduction:

Potential difference indicates electrical energy that is transformed to other forms of energy when $1C$ of charges passes beteen two points in a circuit.

Full form of EMF is Electromotive force.A difference in electrical potential result to increase in electric current is called electromotive force. In other words, electromotive force is the potential difference between terminals of any cell when zero current flows.

Some of the devices which provide EMF by converting other forms of electrical energy are known as batteries/ generators.

Conclusion:

EMF is not a force but an electric potential difference.
