Question
Chapter 25, Problem 7RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The basic step by which pili are assembled on the bacterial cell surface and the difference between type 1 and type 4 pili.
Introduction:
The bacteria that reach the human body should able to attach to a cell to protect itself from getting eliminated by the body’s defense mechanism. In order to attach to the host cell, bacteria use several ways. One of them is attaching by pilus that is a hair-like structure found on the surface of all bacteria. Pili is divided into 3 types, type1, type3, and type4 pili. They are protein tips with cylindrical shape.
