Chapter 25, Problem 17RQ
Summary Introduction
To review :
Relationship between ubiquitylation and intracellular pathogens.
Introduction:
Ubiquitylation refers to the post-translation modification that involves the attachment of ubiquitin to the substrate protein. In this process, the last amino acid of ubiquitin, glycine binds to the lysine residue of the substrate protein. This binding involves the formation of an isopeptide bond between glycine and lysine. It requires various types of enzymes such as ubiquitin-activating enzymes, ubiquitin ligases, and ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes.
