Concept explainers
To write: if there appears any correlation between body size and brain weigth possible explanation (in terms of adaptations)
Introduction. The relationship between body size and brain is not quite linear. The animals which have larger body size will spontaneously have a larger size of the brain. It is assumed that the size of a body is general proxy is an important in variable.
Explanation of Solution
The relationship between body size and brain weight follows two completely separate functions for both cold and warm-blooded animals The larger animals require more neurons to form their bodies and control the muscles. Hence, the ranking of animals depends upon the size of the brain which is observed in the animal’s behavior. To examine closely related
to the size of the body and brain, Felsenstein’s independent comparisons method was used just to control for phylogenetic effects on the composition of the body.
Thus, this is the correlation between the body size and the brain weight ( in terms of adaptations).
