Chapter 33.5, Problem 1CSC
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The function of lymphatic system other than absorbing all the intestinal fluid that leaks from capillaries and return it to bloodstream.
Introduction:
Lymphatic system is the network of tissue and organs that help in removing the toxic substances from the body and also acts as a circulatory system that helps in the draining of fluid from the vessels. The lymphatic system is made up of network of lymphatic vessels and secondary lymphoid organs.

Even though the lymphatic system is a component of the circulatory system, why is the term circulation not the most appropriate term to describe the flow of lymph?
How would you describe the flow?
Explain how lymph is formed. What would be the impact on lymph formation if the osmotic force at the venous end of the capillary was more successful at recovering fluid lost at the arterial end?
When the tissue swell down due to injury, gaps in the lymphatic capillaries open allowing fluid to flow from the blood capillary to the lymphatic capillary? True or false?
