Total cost is.

Since, Cost of milk is $\frac{3}{2}$ times the cost of apple therefore.

  $M=\frac{3}{2}A\mathrm{......}\left(2\right)$

And sandwich costs $1.4$ $ more than apple therefore.

  $\begin{array}{l}S-A=1.4\\ S=A+1.4\mathrm{......}\left(3\right)\end{array}$

Substituting $M=\frac{3}{2}A$ and $S=A+1.4$ in equation (1).

  $\begin{array}{l}S+M+A=3.5\\ A+1.4+\frac{3}{2}A+A=3.5\\ 2A+\frac{3}{2}A=2.1\\ \frac{7}{2}A=2.1\\ A=0.6\end{array}$

Cost of milk is.
