Concept introduction:
Concept of electron energy level was supported by the line spectrum of hydrogen. In a gas discharge tube, excited atoms of hydrogen have electron in a high energy orbit. In the process, when electron drops from the higher energy level to lower energy level, the electron loses a discrete amount of energy.
