Chapter 4, Problem 5MC
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Photosynthesis is a process by which green plants, algae, and cyanobacteria convert light energy into chemical energy that can later be used to fuel the organism’s activities. The energy is stored in the carbohydrate molecule like sugars that are produced from carbon dioxide and water. The entire process is influenced by the presence of sunlight, hence the name photosynthesis, photo means “light” and synthesis means “formation”. In general, the formation of the plant’s food in the presence of sunlight is referred to as photosynthesis.
