Concept introduction: In the plant cells, two types of reactions take place as part of photosynthesis: light-dependent reactions (light reactions) and light-independent reactions (dark reactions). The products of light-dependent reactions are nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate hydrogen (NADPH) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The above mentioned products (NADPH and ATP) are used in light-independent reactions.
