Wavenumber is the total number of wavelengths observed at a unit distance. Equation for wavenumber can be given as,

  Wavenumber, ν¯ = 1λ = νc here, λ=wavelengthν=frequencyc = speed of light

The Planck’s equation says that radiant energy can exist only in form of discrete quanta and hence it is proportional to the frequency.

E= here,h = Planck’s constant (6.626×10-34J.s)which relates energy and frequency.ν= the frequencyE = energy of light particle.
