Introduction:
According to the ABO blood type system, the human blood can be grouped into four types based on the antigen present on the surface of RBCs (red blood cells). On the surface of the RBC, a specific type of antigen is present in each individual. The persons who have the same antigen on the RBC surface are capable of transmitting blood between them. However, those individuals, who carry different antigens, are not able to permit blood transfusion between them.
