To draw: The structure of deoxyribose, guanine and phosphate along with the order (from most soluble to least) of their solubility in water.
Introduction:
The solubility in water is determined by hydrogen bonding or the presence of polar molecules. Molecules that have hydrogen atoms are involved in covalent interactions of hydrogen with highly electronegative elements like oxygen, or nitrogen.
To explain: The way in which the order of solubilities is consistent with the three-dimensional structure of double-stranded DNA.
Introduction:
The interactions between bases are due to hydrophobic stacking so that two or more nitrogenous bases are arranged with planes of their rings (bases) parallel to each other.
