Chapter 8, Problem 21STP
To determine

The process of the production of the geothermal energy by running the turbine by the steam.

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark

Answer to Problem 21STP

The steam generates due to the boiling of the water by the geothermal energy runs the turbine and produces the electricity in the geothermal power plant.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

The temperature of the lava inside earth is very high. This high temperature heat up the water inside the earth and produces the energy. This energy is called geothermal energy.

The rocks inside the earth changes into lava due to the high temperature and pressure. The high temperature lava generates the steam by heating the water. This steam is used to run the turbines. The mechanical energy of the turbine converts to electrical energy in the geothermal power plants.

Conclusion:

Thus, the steam generates due to the boiling of the water by the geothermal energy runs the turbine and produce the electricity in the geothermal power plant.
