Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark

Answer to Problem 14R

The need to develop and use alternative energy sources due to the nonpolluting nature of the source and continuous availability.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

There are two types of energy sources. One is renewable energy sources and another is non-renewable energy sources.

The non-renewable energy sources can be used once only and renewable energy sources can be used continuously. Renewable sources do not pollute the environment.

Non-renewable energy sources pollute the environment. So, alternate forms of energy are necessary. The alternate forms of energy sources are wind energy, solar energy, hydroelectric energy, geothermal energy and fuel cells.

It is necessary to use alternate forms of energy because these sources do not pollute the environment and these do not destroy after use.

Conclusion:

Thus, the need to develop and use alternative energy sources due to the nonpolluting nature of the source and continuous availability.
